How To Make Adaptogenic Dandelion + Chicory Coffee Alternative [Recipe]

A delicious, warming and nourishing coffee alternative.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 46 quarts of water (depending on how dark you like the “brew”)
  • 1/8 cup dandelion root
  • 1/8 cup chicory root
  • ~1/2 tsp Reishi mushroom powder
  • ~1/2 tsp Chaga mushroom powder
  • Optional: 1-2 tsp raw honey + cinnamon + almond milk

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring the water to a boil.
  2. Add the dandelion and chicory root. Turn the heat to low-medium and allow to simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  3. Use a strainer to strain the alternative coffee. Before serving, add a pinch of the Reishi and Chaga powders. Stir well, drink as-is or follow my super special directions in the next step.
  4. For the best beverage ever, add 2-3 cups of the hot dandelion + chicory “coffee” to a blender, along with 1/4 tsp of Reishi mushroom powder and 1/4 tsp Chaga mushroom powder. Add 1/2 cup homemade almond or coconut milk, a dash of cinnamon, and sweetener to taste (I love raw honey). Blend until creamy and frothy. Then, enjoy!
