Hey lovely friends,
The other day my friend Kelsea and I made an impromptu trip to Canggu, Bali (northern Kuta) and enjoyed the beach as well as an awesome gathering with some newly-discovered friends.
For the Bali Fruit Fest (which, yes, is a bunch of wonderful conscious eaters gathering to enjoy Bali’s splendid seasonal fruit) a good handful of us met at Seminyak’s Organic Market (on Sundays) and made introductions while the other part of the group scouted around for tasty fruit.
It’s not hard to come by nutrient-dense, hydrating, and delicious (ripe!) fruit in the tropics, and I have to say that what I’ve so far found in Bali has been the greatest – ever.
I spent a bit of time in Costa Rica and Thailand (2 1/2 years, to be exact) so have some experience in this department, but am loving Bali for this reason and many more.
While we chilled, Kelsea and I also sampled some local kombucha. It was a watermelon, rosemary, and black pepper kombucha (a type of fermented Chinese tea)… and it was amazing.
Thanks to our gracious host Kendell, we indulged in each others’ company and the exotic fruit underneath a mango tree. It seriously was like heaven.
Great introductions were made, jackfruit and more was had, and fun games in the pool took place.
I’m super grateful for the experience and am feeling blessed to be in Bali while the event took place.
Afterward, Kelsea and I ventured to the beach in Northern Kuta (major surf area) – and the group gathered along, to finish the day’s adventure with a gorgeous sunset.
Kelsea and I actually came down Saturday night and woke up Sunday morning with a coconut at the beach, so here are some pictures from that experience. 🙂
It’s been an absolute blast, and I’m super pleased to be back in Ubud after the highlight, where work, raw restaurants and more are calling my name.
Ubud truly is magical, but I will talk more about that in another post – as well as how you can fund and create a travel life, as well. xo
