Oh my, oh my, oh my!
How ARE you lovely friends? I hope extremely well. While currently stationed in Cambodia (Siem Reap – near the fabulous Angkor Wat temples), my Christmas will be filled with volunteering at a local children’s hospital and singing guitar tunes in my hostel room.
It seems odd – this now being my third Christmas without snow like I grew up in (or close family – bummer)… but I know that such celebration isn’t meant to only be one day of the year, but last every day, so there is no sadness.
For those that get to be in the SNOW, however, I have a treat for you! (Okay, no need to be in the snow, ALL can enjoy this yummy drink!)
Thanks to the lovely This Rawsome Lifefor the photos. I don’t have a kitchen right now (or good produce / healthy food supply, so am borrowing some pics).
A long, long, long time ago in the depths of the Bloom for Life blog, I once posted a holiday Egg Nog recipe. That recipe, however sad, was lost in the hall of archives… therefore a new one gets to be served to you today!
Drink this when your nose and cheeks are all red from the frost (or not), and cuddle near someone while enjoying its delightful flavors. Sharing is Caring!
- 1 ½ cups almond milk
- 2 frozen ripe bananas
- 1 pitted date soaked for about an hour
- ¼ tsp natural pure vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
- pinch ground cloves
- pinch of Celtic sea salt
- Place all ingredients in your Vitamix and puree until smooth and creamy. Add more water to achieve desired consistency.
- **I just blended whole almonds with 2 cups of water as I liked the rustic consistency. But you could use homemade strained almond milk.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon and serve immediately. YUMMO!
