Hey everyone!
So I acknowledge I’ve been somewhat …absent…during this month of December, and it’s because Detox December has been a heck of a fun ride! Week 1 we had new variations of smoothies every morning, week 2 had fabulous ‘alternative’ recipes, ranging from Larabars to Kale Chips, and we ended the note early (due to problems with my automated server) going over why we want to live raw & vegan: Not just for our health, but for the animals, environment, and future generations.
Unfortunately, as I mentioned above, I had to stop Detox December early due to technical difficulties (er…), but promised that I’d share a lot of my exciting plans on MandyBloomsRaw!
So with that said, today’s a wonderful recipe I wanted to share for a while, and it’s Holiday Egg Nog! Do you remember Grandma chasing you around with Egg-Nog, and you, (or me, being 5 years old and thinking it was straight eggs) running away? Well today’s recipe is one that will have the whole house drawing near!
Sip up the holiday cheer with this tasty treat. (And funny note: the first time I tried to make a raw & vegan egg nog was my first ‘raw’ Christmas and I used cashews – not almond milk – and it was awful. I hope it goes better for you!)

Raw & Vegan Holiday Eggnog!

Ingredients:
1 ¼ cup raw almond milk (recipe: almond milk)
2 Frozen bananas (peeled and sliced beforehand)
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 date (soaked for 10 minutes)
Dash of clove
¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Dash of sea salt!

Directions:

1) Start by adding the liquid to your blender (I love the Vitamix!). Blend on high for 20 seconds or until there are no chunks of frozen banana left.
2) Garnish with a dash of cinnamon and nutmeg –and slurp your delicious drink!

Mmmm… who knew indulging could be so healthy? Doesn’t that bring a smile to your face? It does mine!
