Hey, beautiful.
Have hemp seeds found their way into your diet yet? If not, hopefully, it’s about time. Hemp seeds are so nutritious. For instance…
- Hemp is an exceptional source of essential fatty acids including Omega-3, 6, and GLA in the perfect balance.
- Shelled, hemp seeds are a more digestible protein than meat, whole eggs, cheese, human milk, and cow’s milk.
- They are rich in Vitamin E – great for healthy skin, hair, and nails.
- Hemp lowers blood pressure.
- It also improves cardiovascular circulation and function.
- Hemp reduces symptoms of PMS and menstrual cramps.
- Improves recovery of muscles after exercise.
- Reduces inflammation and the symptoms of arthritis.
- Can be eaten by all – regardless of their intolerance to nuts, gluten, lactose, or sugar; there are NO known allergies to hemp foods.
Hemp is pretty awesome, right?
One of my favorite recipes that calls for hemp is nacho cheez sauce that’s vegan. You know when you go to football games and everyone has goopy processed cheese covering their corn chips? Yeah – it’s 100x better than that. PLUS, you can pour this on a bed of greens with some flax crackers, walnut meat, and some salsa and make a Rawkin Nacho Taco Salad.
So without further ado, here is your new, favorite nacho cheese recipe which will serve as your go-to cheesy staple from here on out.
{Raw, Vegan} Hemp Nacho Cheese
Ingredients
- 1/3 Cup Water
- 1-2 Cloves of Garlic, crushed
- 1 Red Bell Pepper (seeded), and roughly chopped
- 1 Cup Hemp Seeds
- 2 1/2 Tbsp Nutritional Yeast Flakes
- 2 tsp Nama Shoyu (or Wheat-Free Tamari or Braggs Amino Acids)
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper
- 1/8 tsp Turmeric Powder
Instructions
- Place all ingredients in a high-speed blender (like the BlendTec or Vita-Mix) and process until smooth and creamy.
- Enjoy with vegetable sticks, on a salad, or smothered over kale and dehydrated. (Makes some pretty bomb-diggity kale chips).
I hope you enjoy!
